Our courses

At this school it is possible to attend English and German courses for all levels and age groups.

Inclusion in classes takes place through an initial test and the progress achieved in the short and medium term is periodically evaluated with the help of written tests and interviews with the teaching staff.

Cambridge

One-year courses with two lessons per week or one lesson on Saturdays. Aimed at students who need a certification to live, work and study abroad.

  • KET
(Key English Test ) Level A2 Certifies knowledge of the English language at an elementary level
  • PET
(Preliminary English Test) Level B1 'Survival' level
  • FCE
(First Certificate in English) Level B2 Upper intermediate level. Written and spoken everyday language also useful in a work context.
  • CAE
Cambridge Advanced in English) Level C1 Advanced level, required to enter the academic world and professional work contexts.
  • CPE
(Proficiency Certificate in English) Liv. C2 This is the most advanced level exam comparable to a native speaker.

TRINITY (GESE)

International certifications certifying spoken language competence, recognised for course credits at schools and at some universities. At IH London School you can attend intensive exam preparation courses in June.

IELTS

We programme courses annually to prepare for the IELTS Certificate which is required by various Italian and foreign universities and also in the public and private job market. The minimum level to participate in these courses is B1.

SUMMER COURSES Children

For children there are:

  • 3 hour long afternoon workshops focusing on topics of interest for their age group
  • creative activities entirely in English from Monday to Friday from 9.30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Summer courses teenagers

For teenagers there are 10 hour courses which mainly focus on speaking. At the end of the course, those who wish can take the Trinity GESE examination at the appropriate level.

Adult summer courses

We offer adults the opportunity to follow:

  • semi-intensive conversation courses in English and German
  • short courses to prepare for the IELTS exam or
  • Business English courses.

Infants/Juniors

At our school your children are in a protected environment. Motivated and enthusiastic teachers turn the lesson into an engaging and memorable experience using a teaching approach which is appropriate for the children's age and level. Lessons are face-to-face, interactive and involve pair or group work. The children use vocabulary and topics related to their everyday life and inserted into short dialogues. For very young children we also include songs and nursery rhymes in the lesson.

Teenagers

The courses for teenagers are aimed at obtaining internationally recognised certifications at A2 and B1 level. The curriculum is designed in such a way that short, medium and long-term objectives can be reached. During the course, the students' grammatical knowledge is deepened, their vocabulary expanded and their pronunciation improved. The students often engage in stimulating activities such as pair and group activities or role-plays.
